Dr. Allan G. Farman is a Professor Emeritus of the University of Louisville where he served in the Dental, Medical, and Graduate Schools. He holds earned doctorates both in Oral Pathology (PhD) and in Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology.(DSc), and before retirement had concurrent specialty licensure in the USA, United Kingdom, and South Africa. He is a Past President both of the International Association of DentoMaxillofacial Radiology and the American Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology, a Life Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology, and a Life Member both of the Radiological Society of North America, and the American Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology. He is an Honorary Member of the International Association of DentoMaxilloFacial Radiology and an Honorary Fellow of the American Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology. He was the Founding Chair of DICOM WG22. He served as Editor for the Oral Radiology section of Oral Surgery, Oral Medicine, Oral Pathology, Oral Radiology 1988-95 and 2005-09 continuing with editing roles for four additional PubMed-indexed and abstracted journals.
